About Us

Our journey so far

We are a mother and daughter partnership, based in County Leitrim (Republic of Ireland). We started Tully Crafts in 2019 with the intention of selling a wide range of our own hand-crafted items at markets in our local area and events around the country.

After attending Mayo Pride 2019, we realised the lack of LGBTQ+ items available in most of Ireland. We adjusted our priorities a little to help with that, by offering not only our own hand-crafted LGBTQ+ items but also sourcing flags from wholesale suppliers for resale, therefore expanding the availability of LGBTQ+ items to all of our customers.

During the 2020 C19 restrictions we had to re-evaluate our methods and goals again. We had already set up an Etsy store, but felt we needed to have more of an online availability for our customers.

We had the opportunity to work with 2020's Pride Inside, (providing flags for them to sell through their online shop and donating several spot prizes), as supporting the Irish LGBTQ+ community is still very dear to our hearts. Having had the experience of working with an online shop through them, we felt it was time to set up our own online presence; this website was born from that.

We continued to attend our local weekly Farmers' Market, every Friday in Manorhamilton through 2021, and attended events again in 2022 With our Tully Truck. Keep an eye on our Facebook and Instagram pages for when and where to find us at events this year. At the end of 2022 we took on our Shop (on John Street in Sligo), and opened the first permanent LGBTQ+ shop in Ireland!

Looking ahead, our goals and priorities are to provide unique, hand-crafted items, with an LGBTQ+ theme. We also continue stocking our flags to make them available to as many people as possible. We are now able to offer our products world wide, (postal restrictions depending) via this online shop. We are adding new lines and products constantly.

Meet our team

Charley (They/She)

Charley making items at the stall

Charley is the daughter in the mother and daughter partnership. She is a Bi/Pan & Greyromantic, in her early 30s and completely out. Most of the jewellery and the hand sewn items are her work.

Originally from Leicester in the UK, she moved to North Leitrim in 2013. She has had involvement in several LGBTQ+ groups down the years, including (but not restricted to) Leitrim Pride, Full Spectrum and Sligo Pride.

Charley runs the Facebook and Instagram pages for Tully Crafts, and it is most likely her you will be speaking to if you get in touch with Tully Crafts. She is however dyslexic, so please try to be patient with her if there are any spelling errors in any communications you have with us.

Dee (She/Her)

Davina stood at the stall

Dee is the mother of the mother and daughter partnership. She is a gender non-conforming woman who has been active in the LGBTQ+ community her whole adult life (going back to the 1970s). Now in her early 60s, she came out of retirement to co-run Tully Crafts. She makes all of the knitted and crochet items as well as a small amount of the sewn items for Tully Crafts.

Originally from Nottingham (UK) and later Leicester, she moved to Leitrim Ireland to live off-grid with her husband on their small holding, having spent her working life in various aspects of the environmental movement. She runs her own blog on Facebook "An Irish cottage in the woods" detailing these adventures.
